What is considered a Truckload?
An LTL shipment can be anything from a 4’ brew tank to a 30’ piece of machinery. Anything over 30’ or 30,000lbs is considered a full truckload and will be quoted based on that. Here are a some of the questions we will ask to determine what is best for your LTL service needs.
Do you have enough freight to fill an entire Trailer?
Is your freight time sensitive, or does it require a certain delivery time?
Can your freight be with other products?
If your freight is hazardous you cannot ship LTL because most LTL carriers will not haul it.
Are you just trying to get the lowest price?
If your freight is not time sensitive and not easily damaged, a common carrier might be the best way to go.
Do you ship household items like furniture?
If you are trying to ship household items, such as furniture or easy-to-break items, you should call a moving company, or a company that provides blanket wrap service to deliver your freight. LTL carriers and most private carriers will not haul household items.
Is your freight easy to damage?
If yes, you may want to use a private carrier.
